9 July 1944 Part 2 Naval engagement southwest of Saint Helier
In the Channel Islands area and off the north coast of Brittany, enemy naval and aerial reconnaissance followed its normal course. At 02:27 our patrol boats came into combat with enemy destroyers 34 kilometres southwest of Saint Helier. We suffered no losses. A smaller naval engagement also took place in the sea area off Cap Fréhel. Transit flights and supply flights for the resistance fighters continued during the night of 8–9 July. There were no other events in Brittany or in the rear Army area.
