Diary Entry
9 January 1945 German order to display notices in Jersey
Editorial note: The PDF contains a modern collection introduction, this German letter, an accompanying English translation and the reply of 10 January. It does not contain the enclosed poster. The separately supplied notice D/Z/H5/130, dated 8 January, names Clark and Haas and is reproduced under that date; the connection is contextual rather than an explicit cross-reference in the letters. The German says the poster is to be displayed from immediately until the following Saturday at 18:00 (13 January 1945); the accompanying translation instead says posting is to be completed by that time. Both readings are preserved below. Heider’s name is legible in the accompanying English translation; the German signature is not independently resolved.
