9 December 1942 Request for stronger fighter cover

Editorial note: This is a request for stronger fighter cover. It does not establish that additional fighters were subsequently deployed.

In view of the almost daily daylight attacks on railway trains in Normandy, and now also on the convoy to the islands, it would be desirable to deploy stronger fighter forces temporarily over Normandy and the Channel Islands, in order to curb somewhat the audacity of the British attackers.
