Diary Entry

8 September 1942 Corbière and Sark lighthouse security to be examined

The order lists Corbière lighthouse and naval signal station and Sark lighthouse among naval posts outside the coastal defences. Coastal-sector commanders, in cooperation with the Navy, are to examine reinforcement by Army troops and the security required to repel raids.

Other unintegrated posts are also to be identified. Detailed completion reports, including Army reinforcements, are due by 14 September. The Navy is to consider which isolated posts can be abolished to save guard troops. Unoccupied offshore islands are to be watched continuously in cooperation with naval authorities.
