M 452 reached V 228. In four towing attempts the third tow parted; on the fourth, V 228 slipped both anchors. The towline parted again, but the boat drifted clear with the south-westerly current. M 452 reconnected and towed V 228 towards Corbière. The conduct of Oberleutnant zur See Böcker and Leutnant zur See [Brütt, uncertain], commander of V 228, was commended. Both craft remained south of Corbière for a considerable time.
