Diary Entry
7 June 1942 St Malo convoy diary
St Malo: cloudless, weak NW breeze, calm sea, visibility 1–2 nautical miles. Night convoys proceed as planned. Lock delay prevents St Malo Roads being occupied until 01:00. Carmen/Caruso were not occupied during night 6/7 June because V 206/211 had an escort task. I cancel the requested Cherbourg–Alderney return convoy so that Carmen can be occupied after being unoccupied last night.
Situation: V 703/726 ready Guernsey for Minotaure night troop convoy to St Malo; ferries 108/110 ready Guernsey; V 202/204 overnight St Malo Roads; V 208/213 ready St Malo; V 206/211 night Alderney–Cherbourg with Dorothea, Weber and Heinrich, then rest; V 203/209 finish previous troop convoy, then alone to Alderney for Antonius troop convoy to Guernsey during night 7/8 June; V 205 eastward. Tonnage 6,750 GRT.
