Diary Entry

7 December 1942 Part 5a Convoy attacked off St Brelade

Related existing record: 7 December 1942 Part 5 — 7 December 1942 Additional account of the convoy attack off Jersey. This separate source account concerns material already represented in that record; it does not by itself establish an additional incident.

A transport flotilla of six ships on passage from St Malo to Guernsey, off Brelade Bay, was attacked at about 14.00 hours by approximately twenty Spitfires. One ship is sinking and three others are burning. These are not leave ships.

Editorial note: Brelade Bay is the source’s place-name. The typed duplicate on PDF page 67 explicitly states that these were not leave ships.
