Diary Entry
6 October 1943 Island batteries and the Paimpol artillery command arrangement
Editorial note: Extract from the Army–Navy discussion of 6 October. Paimpol is a mainland battery; it is included because the report expressly links it with the island batteries and Saint-Malo.
4. Paimpol battery. Construction of a further battery, two 38 cm turrets. Admiral Atlantic Coast has agreed that Paimpol battery be subordinated to Admiral Channel Coast for naval tactical reasons: the island batteries, Saint-Malo and Paimpol form an interconnected artillery system. The sector boundary between Admirals Channel and Atlantic will therefore be moved to the corps boundary between XXV and LXXIV Army Corps Headquarters. [Initial unclear.]
