Diary Entry
5 November 1943 319th Division personnel for Nineteenth Army
Top secret. Army must provide a grenadier battalion as personnel unit to Nineteenth Army. 319th supplies one battalion staff and one company as intact personnel units, without weapons, equipment, hand tools, horses, vehicles, motor vehicles or bicycles. Personnel changes forbidden immediately. Members of German nationality-list category III and Italian auxiliaries already present may remain. Move these units to Saint-Malo assembly camp by noon 12 November. 319th immediately reforms the staff/company: request officers through corps; retain/immediately nominate command personnel as specified [one clause faint]; NCOs/men from division. Retain field-post numbers, stamps/seals for reconstituted units; Nineteenth Army issues new numbers to departing personnel. Report which staff/company by 8 November and transport readiness at Saint-Malo by 12 November.
