4 October 1942 Air attack on Alderney harbour and strongpoints

Editorial note: Report dated 4 October concerning the attack of 3 October; aircraft losses are contemporary claims.

Six British aircraft attacked Alderney harbour and strongpoints at about 19:30 on 3 October. No material damage was reported; one soldier was seriously and one lightly wounded, from army and Luftwaffe respectively. Flak and machine guns defended; two aircraft were claimed probably shot down at sea.
