4 November 1944 Naval intervention over civilian food stocks
Miscellaneous. Channel Islands supply: during my visit to Berlin I reported to the Commander-in-Chief, Navy, on the supply situation and difficulties facing the island commander, particularly the need to confiscate all civilian stocks to hold out longer, not yet authorised by Armed Forces High Command. He promised to press for the confiscation order by 15 November at the latest to ensure reaching the next harvest. Commander, Channel Islands, informed.
