Diary Entry
October 1942 Channel Islands October construction report
Date note: Monthly report; placed at the last calendar day of the month. Figures explicitly refer to the Channel Islands; separate army-wide totals are not treated as island totals.
Construction received a strong impetus through the concentration of Organisation Todt personnel—approximately 18,000 on the Channel Islands and 60,000 on the mainland—in the defended areas and strongpoint groups.
