Diary Entry

31 March 1945 Approval of aircraft for western fortress supply

g) The Luftwaffe High Command has approved the use of a Ju 252 to supply the western fortresses. Since fuel can be allocated only from the quota of Luftwaffe Command West, the Chief of Air Transport asks that requirements be kept as small as possible by applying a strict standard. The present requirements are too high and could not be met under the current fuel situation.

Translator’s note: Related context: the islands are not named in this paragraph. It follows the 28 March request concerning Channel Islands and La Rochelle flights and precedes the 2 April transport requirements, which explicitly allocate four tonnes to the Channel Islands. It does not establish that a particular island flight took place.
