Battery Mirus
Diary Entry
31 March 1944
Repeated defects in the 30.5 cm guns at Battery Mirus led the command to doubt their sustained serviceability. Pending replacement, the Naval High Command ordered reduced propellant charges. Fifty practice rounds per barrel were fired and the fire-control equipment was provisionally recalibrated for the reduced charge. [T-1022/2174, PG 38468, scan 0209]
