31 July 1943 Group C Saint Malo Ida 2 sweep 31 July

Task under 3rd Security Division order Gkdos 3413: Group C to conduct ground-mine checking with SSG from Saint-Malo to Ida 1 and Ida 2 after dark today. Return intended on 1 August. Group commander's intention: M 4600 with KFRG, M 4601 and M 4605 with SSG, into the lock at 21:00. Report to division, copies to Saint-Malo escort office and flotilla: Group C sails at 22:30 for ground-mine checking between Ida 1 and Ida 2; return about 06:00.

31 July, 20:45: M 4600, M 4601 and M 4605 cast off at Saint-Malo. 22:30: on outward course. 23:14: gear out. Wind NNW 2–3, sea 1–2, overcast, moderate visibility, isolated rain showers. M 4607 lies ready to sail in Saint-Malo harbour. M 4606 at Le Havre operational from 24:00. Signed Hüfner.
