Senior officers inspected the coastal sectors, defensive construction and unit readiness. Lieutenant-Colonel i.G. von Heiterer-Schaller was posted to LXXXIV Army Corps and succeeded Lieutenant-Colonel i.G. Meissner as operations officer; Major i.G. Spangenberg became quartermaster. Officers of the SS Panzer Corps and 7th Air Division reported for conferences. The Naval Commander Normandy discussed artillery command linked to naval and Luftwaffe detection equipment. On 30 August the commanding general briefed the commanders and operations officers of 716th and 320th Infantry Divisions and the commander of Fortress Engineer Staff 11. Colonel von Marnitz and Lieutenant-Colonel von Unger were briefed on the Channel Islands construction order on 31 August.

Routine supply caused no major difficulty. Surplus vegetables from the Channel Islands were sent to mainland formations, particularly 7th Air Division. The ships Livadia and Adolph le Prince grounded on reefs at the entrance to Saint-Malo harbour. Livadia was taken out of service and repairs to Adolph le Prince were expected to require several months. Harbour-protection vessel H 2 was damaged during a bombing attack on Saint-Malo.
