Radio telegram FT 1856/30 from the M-Offizier to Naval High Command West and the Commander of E-boats, in reply to FT 0247/30: S 112 docked today and is therefore non-operational from 30 December 1944. The starboard propeller is completely unusable and the starboard shaft bracket has been torn from the hull, but the boat remains afloat. There is otherwise no damage. As work on Compartment 1 is required, restoration will probably take at least four weeks. Supplement to Commander of E-boats: as reported to the Naval Commandant, does destruction of one propeller require replacement of the entire propeller set? Depending on the decision, urgent delivery by air is requested. — Naval Commandant, Channel Islands.
