Location Details
Guernsey; Battery Mirus
Diary Entry
Continuation: 30 December 1944
13:09–13:14 — Guernsey
Battery Mirus fired eight rounds by the E-Messverfahren [uncertain fire-control method] at the destroyer, bearing 309–307 degrees, range 296–305 hectometres. No hits were observed; the destroyer passed out of sight. Readiness was ended.
Despite the great range, fire was opened in order to keep the sea areas controlled by our coastal artillery clear for our own U-boats.
