29 November 1942 Battery West construction report recorded in the December diary

Construction report dated 29 November, embedded in the 5 December entry. M.A.A. 605, Battery West. Organisation Todt: control post shuttering and reinforcement, with preparations for pouring. Turrets 1–4: installation of iron doors and hoists. Turret 4: chipping back the edge of the upper structure by 30 cm in the planned firing sector. Machinery bunker: work not continued. Ammunition replenishment bunker I: ready for pouring, with preparatory work continuing; bunker II: excavation.

Battery’s own work: construction of the common room and canteen, senior NCO accommodation and garage, and continuation of all-round defence works.
