28 October 1943 Operations daily report

1/Georgian 795 moved to Siouville, 5 km northwest of Les Pieux. Remainder Eastern 439 arrived Bayeux. II/583 departed Saint-Malo as planned. 14:50–15:30 bomb attacks in waves on Cherbourg city/arsenal, Équeurdreville, Fort le Homet and Battery 722. Defence readiness unaffected; one battery gun slightly damaged. Three enemy aircraft shot down. Further divisional reports: no special events. Distribution: commanding general, chief of staff, quartermaster, intelligence, artillery commander and operations.
