Seventh Army, Ia/Army Engineer Commander No. 512/42, secret command matter, 28 August 1942, Annex 21. In the arrangements for withdrawal of fortress engineer staffs and construction troops at short notice, paragraph 1(e) states that LXXXIV Army Corps headquarters controls the employment of Fortress Engineer Commander XIV and his subordinate units.
Corps headquarters were to submit proposals for assembly areas, transport from present stations and approximate movement times by 10 September. This is a contingency order; it does not record an evacuation of Jersey or the other islands.
