General
Major Hassbach, Qu 1 of Army Group D, reports at 01:50 that, because of the weather report, all supplies must move on 27 June using every available means, on the express orders of Chief Quartermaster West. Commanders Army Supply Troops 575 and 592 and the Army supply office were informed at 02:00.
Telephone discussion between the Chief Quartermaster and the quartermaster of Chief Quartermaster West: weapons are urgently needed for two regiments of the 352nd Infantry Division, since the division can form them at short notice using replacements received. Chief Quartermaster West promises to pass the matter to the General Quartermaster.
Battle Group Keil specifies the following supplies to be dropped by air:
1. Medical material: blood-transfusion equipment; infusion fluids and equipment; ether for anaesthesia; Evipan; ethyl chloride; plaster bandages.
2. Close-range anti-tank weapons.
3. Ten sacks of flour.
Qu 1 requests immediate notification of the dropping area by a flash-priority operational radio message.
Qu 1 discusses air supply for Battle Group Keil with Chief Quartermaster West, Major Hassbach and Captain Barkewitz, and specifies the urgently required supplies.
Qu 1 discusses with the authorised transportation officer the intention to raise carrying capacity to 1,000 tonnes per week using six ships. A further thirteen ships will be brought in, which would achieve a capacity of 3,000 tonnes per day. [The differing weekly and daily periods are as written in the source.]
Senior Field Intendant Gotzkowski reports: island reserves of the 319th Infantry Division, 90 days, by stretching the rations.
Qu 1/Chief Quartermaster of First Army headquarters reports: 100 tonnes of light field-howitzer ammunition and 100 tonnes of heavy field-howitzer 18 ammunition will depart for Seventh Army headquarters on 29 June. Charcoal and wood will follow later. The column commander will probably report to Seventh Army headquarters on the morning of the 29th.
