General continued
The Chief Quartermaster requests Chief Quartermaster West, Captain Barchewitz, with reference to the urgent teletype concerning the area closed to supply transports, to direct all transports south of the prohibited line into the Bagnoles–Domfront strongpoint, so that there is no further loss from the already inadequate flow of supplies.
Transport columns of the 243rd Infantry Division have been ordered to St-Sauveur-Lendelin, to be called forward there by LXXXIV Army Corps headquarters.
On enquiry, IVa, Senior Field Intendant Gotzkowski, is instructed to give the 716th Infantry Division provisions for three to four days for its transport south. Further provisioning along the transport route is to be arranged with First Army headquarters.
The St-Nazaire transshipment point reports the arrival on 26 June of a transport carrying 490 tonnes of ammunition.
Qu 1 discusses with Ib of Army Group B, Major Bokesparre, the impossibility of carrying out transshipment from Paris–Elbeuf to Seventh Army depots.
Qu 1 asks the Luftwaffe quartermaster, Major Kotze, whether Luftwaffe ammunition stored at St-Malo is to go to the Channel Islands or whether ammunition can be made available to the Army. The Luftwaffe refuses.
The armed-forces supply staff at St-Malo is instructed to prepare for loading three motor torpedo boats.
On the basis of an order from Commander-in-Chief West, the Chief Quartermaster orders the consolidation of all transport capacity in the fortresses and Nantes area into a single vehicle pool and issues instructions for repairs, fuel supply and reporting. [Annex 90.]
