24 July 1944 Part 1 Increased maritime reconnaissance and flights over the islands

During the night, a larger formation crossed Brittany, and there were supply flights for resistance fighters. By day and night the enemy continued increased naval and coastal reconnaissance between Saint-Malo and Brest, and carried out reconnaissance flights over both the mainland and the Channel Islands.

In the XXV Army Corps area, about 100 enemy aircraft carried out a bombing attack on the Donges depot, ten kilometres east of Saint-Nazaire, from 00:50 to 01:00. The Donges–Savenay railway was cut and Oil Depot 3 was set on fire. There were no casualties.
