Today, for the first time, telephone contact is established with the divisional doctor of the 319th Infantry Division stationed on the English Channel Islands. He reports that the hospitals have moved into the prepared bunkers. The Guernsey hospital has 87 patients, including twenty wounded; the Jersey hospital has 127, including sixty wounded; and that on Alderney has four wounded.
The divisional doctor of the 276th Infantry Division reports that the division is satisfactorily equipped materially. Eleven ambulances are missing and the motorised medical company has a small vehicle shortfall. The division is short of four medical officers.
A sergeant sent by the divisional doctor of the 16th Luftwaffe Field Division establishes contact with the Army Surgeon. There is a shortage of five medical officers and 139 medical other ranks.
The transshipment point and dressing station at Montreuil have been closed after evacuation of all wounded.
Medical Company 2/353 has arrived in the LXXXIV Corps area and has been ordered to take over the main dressing station at La Lande, south of Lessay, from Medical Company 243.
Medical Company 191 has established a main dressing station with 300 lying places at Rihourie, south of St-Sauveur-Lendelin.
The forward main dressing station established at Gerville by 1st Platoon, Medical Company 265, remains there.
The sick collecting station at Bagnoles reports readiness to receive patients.
Hospital Train West II has arrived at Le Mans, but cannot yet be loaded and depart because the line at Château-du-Loir is currently impassable.
At 00:30 an improvised casualty train leaves Le Mans for Tours with 611 wounded. It must be unloaded before Tours because the Loire bridges before Tours are impassable.
