Summary: PT 456 and PT 457 sailed for Channel Islands patrol at 1858. At 2213 PT 457 investigated a target north of Cape de la Hague. Receiving no reply to challenge, she fired ten rounds of .50 calibre across its bow, then identified it as a French sailing fishing vessel bound for Rouen.
Editorial note: The diary prints the vessel name as COMMANDANT PAVAL. This was a French fishing vessel, not a confirmed enemy vessel.
