Continuation: evening of 22 October 1944
21:30
F.K. 28 entered St Helier.
The following observation was reported: at a distance of two nautical miles, flashing signals from a hand lamp were seen from Maîtresse Island towards the west. In that direction, two E-boats were approximately half a nautical mile from the island and steering towards it. It was assumed that the enemy had observed the withdrawal of F.K. 28 from the Chauseys that morning and was now inspecting the island.
