S 112 was expected to be ready at 16:00 following installation of the centre-shaft thrust bearing. A trial run was scheduled for 19:00–21:00. A mining operation off the approach to Saint-Malo was then planned, as the moon conditions after new moon would become increasingly unfavourable during the following nights.
