23:50. Colonel Kessler, commander of Regiment for Special Employment 752, reports that reconnaissance has already been sent out to investigate the reported parachute drops near Gavray.
In the regiment’s opinion, a report of drops on this scale is incorrect. Apparently these were only emergency parachute jumps. All available forces—Panzer Battalion 100, 3rd Company of Pioneer Battalion 319, one construction company, one headquarters company and the straggler collection posts with 60 men—were employed in converging operations to observe and search the area.
