22 July: wind NW 2–3, moderate visibility. Released convoy in Saint Aubin's roads. 06:00: boats secured in Saint Helier harbour. Written order from Jersey harbour commandant: at 21:00 M 4605, M 4601 and M 4607 to escort Chiemsee, Rabat, Guynemer, Vouloir and Presto-Normand to Granville. Minesweepers to enter harbour there. 20:45: cast off for the task. 21:15: took over convoy. Wind NE 2–3, hazy. Formation in original. Signed Ertel.
