Diary Entry
22 July 1942 divisional review of St Malo diary, 16–30 June
3rd Security Division, 22 July 1942, G 4192 A IV/Br, Secret. To Commander Security West, two copies, information copy Convoy Office St Malo. Submits one copy of the St Malo diary for 16–30 June 1942.
Regarding page 9, 22 June: the shortage of security vessels has meanwhile been alleviated by assigning four boats of the 7th Patrol Flotilla to the convoy office. Frequent losses of availability through air attacks and other causes nevertheless leave its crews and boats under very heavy strain. Addendum for the convoy office: use the fixed names (Festnamen) of patrol positions in the diary instead of their cover names (Decknamen). Signed Hans Hartmann.
