Diary Entry
Continuation: 21 October 1944
12:15–12:25
The radar station at Alderney detected several targets in grid square B.F. 3527, course south-east, speed 10–15 knots. The radar had been employed by day to determine whether supply convoys were running to Cherbourg in the prevailing poor north-easterly weather. As they were, it was possible that Cherbourg inner harbour was operational again.
During a temporary improvement in visibility in the afternoon, a destroyer was reported on the southern waiting station. The Guernsey–Jersey convoy planned for 16:00 was postponed for 24 hours because of the weather.
