Diary Entry

21 November 1944

12:00

Weather: wind north-west, force 2–4; sea state 1–2; visibility 12–15 nautical miles; cloud 7/10; cloud base 1,000 metres.

Minquiers: while the two supply boats were lying at the base, engine noises were heard. Ten minutes after F.K. 09/28 had departed on the return passage, the boats were overflown by a Halifax. Four minutes later, at 12:32, it made a second approach, this time attacking with its guns. There were no casualties. Our defensive fire obtained hits on the fuselage and right wing. It must be assumed that the supplying of the base was observed.
