21 June 1944 Part 3 Ammunition dropped on the islands instead of Cherbourg
14:20. The Chief of Staff of LXXXIV Army Corps again reports to the operations officer the corps’ shortage of ammunition and fuel.
Enemy reconnaissance thrust northwest of La Haye-du-Puits, near Baudreville.
Our aircraft have dropped ammunition over the Channel Islands instead of into Fortress Cherbourg. In the process one of our aircraft was shot down by one of our own S-boats.
