21 July, 02:35, grid BF 3552, centre of left small square: met Vp 702 with convoy; exchanged ship ES. 04:45, Point 254: recovered gear, no mines or grapnel detonations. 06:00: entered Cherbourg, secured at Quai de France. Because of unfavourable currents, intended departure deferred to 22 July at 19:30, sweeping Heart Route to new Point 332, then Guernsey.
