Location Details
Granville; Jobourg; Cap de la Hague
Diary Entry
21 August 1944 US Navy Maloy report endorsed and radar coordination reviewed
Commander US Ports and Bases France forwarded the report towards Commander in Chief United States Fleet. A. D. Clark, Chief of Staff, signed serial 0166. The endorsement explains that the patrol sought to prevent supply or evacuation of Brittany by sea. Shore radar at Jobourg on Cap de la Hague and at Granville fed information through CTF 125 headquarters to Maloy, which directed the PT groups. It describes this as the first operation of this nature for the forces concerned and anticipates improvements in vectoring. [G page 7]
