21 August: Boat Order 38, Guernsey harbour commandant: M 4600, M 4601 and M 4605 with Klaus Wilhelm, Schwalbe and tug Volkmar via Alderney to Cherbourg. 21:15: cast off. 21:30: took over convoy. Wind W 1–2, sea 1, good visibility. Formation in original. Signed Ertel.
