On 20 November two German harbour-protection boats sailing from Granville to Jersey were attacked. The diary also records frequent air warnings, reconnaissance, convoy measures and changes in the Cherbourg and Channel Islands sectors. The withdrawal of 320th Infantry Division and the arrival of replacement formations were planned in detail. Following the occupation of the remainder of France and Toulon, headquarters assessed the possibility of enemy action against the Channel coast and kept reserves and transport arrangements under review.
