20 June 1944 Part 4 Rennes personnel reception point for the Channel Islands
Date note: 20 June 1944.
20 June 1944. Seventh Army Headquarters, Ia.
To headquarters: I SS Panzer Corps; XXXXVII Panzer Corps; II Parachute Corps; LXXXIV Army Corps; LXXIV Army Corps; XXV Army Corps.
Front Personnel Routing Station 5, Le Mans, has established an outstation at Bagnoles for the battle front, and an outstation at Rennes for Brittany and the Channel Islands. The Nantes branch also remains in existence for XXV Army Corps. The Saint-Malo branch is being withdrawn for the time being.
Corps headquarters will ensure that divisions collect the personnel brought forward from the outstations regularly. The strength of transports arriving at the outstations must be ascertained from them through the corps headquarters’ reporting centres. This requires continuous contact between the reporting centres and the outstations.
Immediate collection of replacements by the divisions is absolutely necessary because of accommodation difficulties at the outstations. The requested delivery forward to the vicinity of corps command posts is not possible owing to a shortage of transport capacity.
