20 June 1943 Part 5 Water supplies during prolonged fighting
In response to an enquiry, Army Headquarters reports to Commander-in-Chief West that water supplies on all the Channel Islands are assured for the Armed Forces, Organisation Todt and the civilian population, even during prolonged heavy fighting and after the destruction of all artificial installations, through stored mineral and fresh water and the available fresh-water sources.
Editorial note: This is the command’s contemporary assessment of supply resilience.
