Editorial note: Night of 20–21 August; shore firing occurred after 0600 on 21 August.
Lieutenant William C. Godfrey, USN, Officer in Tactical Command, reported a Channel Island patrol by PT 505, PT 501, PT 510 and PT 512. The night patrol was west of Jersey. Wind was force 5, the sea rough, the sky overcast and visibility poor. [C page 2]
