Item 4 — reference to page 302
Naval High Command West replied to the enquiry concerning S 112 by radio telegram FT 1437/18: ‘Naval Commandant, Channel Islands. Reply there: radio telegrams 1639, 1641, 1647/16. Dockyard overhaul of S 112 is planned at Lorient; thereafter the boat is to be employed on the Atlantic coast. Reasons: overhaul is not possible in the Channel Islands; transfer of torpedoes or torpedo components is rejected by O.K.L. because of the fuel shortage in the Channel Islands. The two Naval Commandants are to agree between themselves on the transfer after the planned minelaying operation. — Naval High Command West.’
