Date note: 16 June 1944.
Seventh Army Headquarters, Ia. 16 June [1944].
To Army Group B Headquarters. Highest priority.
Now that the enemy has launched his major attack on Normandy, the danger to the Channel Islands has receded into the background. Army Headquarters does not expect larger enemy operations here, a view also confirmed by the limited enemy air activity in this area. It is therefore requested that a reinforced battle group of the 319th Infantry Division be brought to the mainland. Shipping space for the transfer is available.
Seventh Army Headquarters, Ia No. 3122/44 Secret Command Matter [handwritten number].
