16 January 1943 Operations daily report

On 15 January at approximately 15:15 a German fighter shot down a Spitfire near Bayeux. The pilot is dead. It was subsequently established that at approximately 23:00 on 15 January an enemy aircraft bombed a goods train between Valognes and Cherbourg, causing slight damage to lines. During the night of 15/16 January an enemy aircraft flying towards the mainland was probably shot down over the Channel Islands.
