16 August, Saint-Malo: 3rd Security Division order Gkdos 4685 FS A3: Group C to check Cherbourg roads with SSG and KFRG. Flotilla Gkdos 388/43. Escort office boat order: M 4600, M 4601, M 4605 and M 4607 into lock at 21:30, proceed to Guernsey, next night to Cherbourg for division task. 16:00, verbal amendment: proceed only to Jersey and await further orders. 21:30: boats cast off. 21:50: secured in lock. 22:10: cleared lock for Jersey; M 4600 took M 4607 in tow. 22:50: passed Saint-Malo approach buoy. Wind SE 2–3, sea 1–2, good visibility. Signed Ertel.
