15 September 1942 Channel Islands Sea Defence diary

Weather: wind from 315°, 2 metres per second.

17:00–18:00: Batterie Strassburg fired at L’Etac de Sark rocks to test ammunition. Sixteen 22-cm long shells with large charges expended. The ammunition did not detonate on striking water but did on impact with solid ground or rock.
