Weather: wind from 80°, 3 metres per second.

17:50: Harbour Commandant Alderney reported that the lighted centre buoy (Fliegerinsel) of the inner barrier had sunk. Harbour Commandant Alderney informed the buoy command at Trouville. Alert Level I remained. Otherwise no special occurrences.

Construction, Naval Artillery Battalion 604 — Batterie Mirus. The transformer installation for the rangefinder was installed in the fire-control post. The covered passage between control post and its accommodation bunker was poured. Interior work in accommodation bunkers continued. Excavation for the new barrack camp progressed slowly; wire obstacles made further progress.

Batterie Strassburg: no changes. In the following week construction of the temporary fire-control post would begin on the former Oerlikon I platform. Owing to timber shortage it would be built in masonry.

Batterie Steinbruch: reinforcement weaving at the fire-control post had advanced sufficiently for pouring of the lower storey to begin in the following week. Lighting at No. 4 gun provisionally complete; other guns almost complete. Accommodation-bunker excavation: No. 1 about half complete; No. 2 begun; No. 3 complete; No. 4 entirely complete, with working base laid and shuttering beginning.

Naval Artillery Battalion 605 — Organisation Todt work. Fire-control post: shuttering and reinforcement continued. Turrets 1 and 3: hoists installed. Turrets 2 and 4: iron doors and hoists installed. Machinery-bunker work was not continued. Ammunition-replenishment bunker: base poured, shuttering begun. Second replenishment bunker: excavation.

Battery’s own work: completion of new kitchen; work on common room and canteen; all-round wire and motor garage continued. All four guns ready to fire.

Signed Steinbach.
