Diary Entry
14 July 1944 Part 1 Aerial reconnaissance between Jersey and Saint Malo
In the sea area of the Channel Islands between Jersey and Saint-Malo, and off the north coast of Brittany north of Saint-Brieuc and Morlaix, the enemy carried out the usual aerial reconnaissance. Aerial reconnaissance over the Channel Islands was slight.
During the night of 13–14 July, from 23:40, about 15–20 enemy aircraft flew into the LXXIV Army Corps area on a southerly course as far as the area north of Vannes, presumably to supply resistance fighters. During the day there were only a few incoming flights by individual aircraft and smaller formations on a southerly course. No special events occurred in the XXV Army Corps area or in the rear Army area.
For camouflage reasons, the command post of the 266th Infantry Division has been moved to Redon.
