Summary: Squadron 30 records PT 458 and PT 461 leaving Cherbourg at 1947 and taking station at 2330 midway between Sark and Alderney. Squadron 34 describes a Channel Islands patrol with Urania, Jarvis and Borum outside the islands and PT boats near Sark.

Editorial note: The Squadron 34 paragraph repeats the PT 456 and PT 461 shore-fire account under 14 August; Squadron 30 places it in the patrol begun on 13 August. Treat this as a related account, not a second proven shore-fire event.
