5 Stockpiling on the Cotentin peninsula

Field Marshal Rommel has expressed the wish that ammunition should not be withdrawn from the peninsula and that consideration should also be given to establishing a new ammunition depot there.

In addition, the Army proposes that formations on the peninsula not employed in coastal defence should be provisioned for 21 days.

It is requested that the transports required for this stockpiling, which must begin immediately, be handled as priority “arrow” transports.

Furthermore, Army Group B has ordered that the supply establishments of the 716th and 352nd Infantry Divisions be placed in the eight-kilometre coastal zone so as still to have them inside the land front. This question is currently being examined by the Army.
